Group of Biology Students from the University of Samudera Carried Out Coastal Cleanup
A group of biology students from the University of Samudera, City of Langsa, carried out a coastal cleanup activity at the Painted Terrapin (Batagur borneoensis) nesting site on Beach of Ujung Tamiang, Aceh Tamiang, on 10 August.
The activity was carried out together with the staff of the Satucita Foundation and the tourism management group in the Village of Pusung Kapal.
In this activity, students also learn about Painted Terrapin ecology and conservation. At the end of the activity, the students released a number of babies of Painted terrapin on the beach, the beach where the adult females lay eggs every nesting season.
Similar activities are often carried out by the student and youth community in Aceh Tamiang. Through this activity, we are expecting that everyone can play a role in conserving Painted Terrapin in Aceh Tamiang.
