Group Discussion to Increase Public Awareness on Painted Terrapin Conservation
The SatuCita Foundation and the Agency of Conservation of Natural Resources of the Province of North Sumatera (Balai Besar Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Sumatera Utara) held a group discussion with key stakeholders in formulating the plan to increase public awareness on conservation of Painted Terrapin (Batagur borneoensis) around Karang Gading Langkat Timur Laut Wildlife Reserves, District of Langkat, Province of North Sumatera, on July 31.
The participants are the staff of the Agency, the village government officials from five targetted villages, the sub-district government official, and the police official.
The meeting was held to seek inputs from the local leaders (local perspective) about the planning. The planning of the campaign was presented by the staff of the SatuCita, while the staff of the Agency presented the regulation of wildlife conservation.
This campaign is supported by a small grant from the Asian Species Action Partnership (ASAP).
